XLC Cyclone Grit Chamber Sand Remover
Purpose
The XLC cyclone grit chamber sand remover is mainly used in the cyclone grit chambers of municipal sewage treatment plants. This equipment utilizes hydraulic cyclone to effectively separate mud, sand and organic matter,which is an ideal sand removal device. This equipment has a corresponding patent, patent number: ZL 2019 2 0687393.6.
Structure and working principle
The cyclone grit chamber is a circular tank with a conical bottom. Inside the tank, there is a paddle separator. The wastewater enters tangentially from the tank, after rotating 270° (clockwise when viewed from above) and is discharged through the discharge channel. Using a certain flow rate of the influent as power, it moves tangentially along the inner wall of the circular grit chamber to form a vortex. At the same time, through the stirring of the paddle, the liquid is cycled and the axial vortex is formed to speed up the sedimentation of sand particles in the wastewater so as to effectively separate organic matters from sand particles. It also takes advantage of the principle that the smaller the cross-section of the water flow, the faster the water flow velocity, and the more centripetal the water flow velocity at the bottom increases, to move the sediment at the bottom of the tank in a spiral trajectory towards the central sand hopper. Organic matters rise at the center of the pool and are discharged along with the effluent flow. The sediment at the bottom is lifted by the lifting device and enters the sand-water separator for sand-water separation, and then the wastewater is returned to the wastewater system of the plant.
Main features
1. The sand removal effect of this equipment is minimally affected by changes in water volume, and it is compact in structure, easy to operate and maintain, with a long service life;
2. There are two ways to lift sand: air lift and pump lift. Air lift has a relatively better treatment effect, while pump lift has a relatively lower cost;
3. It works well, with a removal rate of more than 85% for particles larger than 0.2mm;
4. For processing capacity Q < 1080m3/h, the chamber can be made of steel; for Q≥1080m/h, the chamber is generally made of concrete structure;
5. The system uses PLC for automatic control of sand washing and sand discharge cycle, operating safely and reliably;
6. The equipment is easy to operate, and the operation of the equipment can be directly controlled locally/remotely.
