The XBS rotary decanter is widely used in the treatment of urban sewage and wastewater for various industries such as papermaking, brewing, tanning, and pharmaceuticals. It is used to decant the treated supernatant from the surface during the drainage stage and is a key equipment in the SBR process.

The device is of the rotating, electric push rod type, installed in the reaction tank or sedimentation tank. When working, the push rod is driven by the driving device to gradually lower the decanter to the water surface at a certain speed (within the prescribed travel range) so that the weir opening is submerged under the water surface. The supernatant flows in from the weir opening, which is collected to the main pipe through the water collection branch pipe and discharges. When stopping, the decanter is also lifted by the push rod. The weir opening is lifted above the water surface, thus completing a decanting process.
